10X Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) for molecular biology

Phosphate Buffered Saline pH 7.4 (PBS) is a pH adjusted blend of phosphate buffers and saline solutions commonly used for research in molecular biology. It is a colourless clear liquid. It is a pH adjusted water-based salt solution. It is an isotonic buffer and it is non-toxic to most cells. PBS usually blends of disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na₂HPO₄) sodium chloride (NaCl),Potassium Chloride(KCl), Potassium dihydrogen phosphate(KH2PO4),Sodium dihydrogen phosphate(NaH₂PO₄).The buffer usually helps to maintain a constant pH, osmolarity and isotonic ion concentration of the solutions that closely mimic those of the human body. PBS is used for dilution of substances, transporting cells or tissue, cell container rinsing, and preparing reagents. It is isotonic and non-toxic to most cells, it is widely used for washing cells and other Sample preparations. It has a good shelf life however solution will develop precipitate in the presence of zinc ions. Phosphate Buffered Saline available with Krins lifesciences is DNase, RNase and Protease free. Phosphate buffers are usually stored at room temperature.
